Full-time and part-time RVN's

We are looking for full-time and part-time RVN’s to join our team of driven and motivated individuals, many with post qualification certificates.

We currently have 20 Day Nurses, 4 Night Nurses and 4 kennel assistants working at our busy RCVS PSS accredited Animal Hospital in Gloucester. Our nurses enjoy a great work/life balance, varied caseload where schedule 3 is actively encouraged and additional training/qualifications are supported.

Applicants should be conscientious, hardworking, have a passion for providing gold standard veterinary care and be confident in all aspects of our nursing rota. As an approved training practice being a Clinical Coach would be advantageous, but training can be provided if you would like to support our student nurses.

We have our own dedicated night team so there is no OOH’s although there is the opportunity the provide holiday cover if you wish.

Shifts will be between the hours of 8am-8pm, 1 in 7 weekends with time off in-lieu and 1 in 14 Saturdays.

EMERGENCY NIGHT VET REQUIRED Flexible Working Opportunities available

An opportunity for an experienced, motivated night vet to join our progressive well- equipped Tier 3 hospital on the edge of the beautiful Cotswolds, as we look to expand our dedicated OOH team.

We offer a challenging and varied case load supporting numerous other practices in the county as well as our own clients.

You will work with our dedicated night nurses and be supported by 10 day vets including certificate holders. We can offer on site accommodation in a self-contained flat.  You must have great client skills and a confident and thorough approach in dealing with all emergency medical and surgical procedures.

Full time and part time vet vacancies

 Woods Veterinary Group is looking for full-time & part-time veterinary surgeons to join our fantastic team due to the development of the hospital facilities aiming for expansion of our services and facilties.

The new hospital will hold enhanced facilities to add to the already great facilities we have.  operating theatres, consulting rooms, including a cat only room, split waiting area for cats and dogs, separate cat, dog & exotic wards, treatment rooms and dedicated bereavement room. The exciting addition of a new imaging equipment means we will be a clinic able to grow our already busy orthopaedics workload as well as be fully equipped for advanced imaging.  All this on top of what we already have (digital X-Ray machine, endoscopy and ultrasound and a full comprehensive lab equipment.) means we will be able to offer our patients and clients the very best of services, all in house.

We are looking for Small animal and Farm New Graduates and experienced full time and part time vets, both small animal and Farm. These roles are in addition to our existing workforce so we can be flexible about days and hours worked as these are new roles within the business. We have opportunities for weekend and night work only or in addition to the day rota, and also we have opportunities for day working only with some share of the weekend rota but no night work.

The New Graduates will start as additions on an existing vet rota, so will have full support and guidance and the opportunity to learn alongside their colleagues and experience complex cases without the pressure of being on their own. We have an excellent New graduate scheme which not only supports the clinical development of the graduate, but also the social and well being aspects of their first 2 years in practice.

More experienced vets will have the opportunities to support and mentor new graduates should they enjoy training, and also develop their own careers in an avenue of their choosing.

EXPERIENCED SMALL ANIMAL VET – WOOD VETERINARY GROUP

We are a large RCVS Accredited Hospital looking to expand our dedicated Small Animal Team of 20 vets. The role is based at our main hospital, which boasts state of the art facilities and the support of experienced vets, with wide ranging clinical interests and on-site OOH team providing 24hr care to our patients.  The role would be best suited to a General Practitioner at least 2 years’ post qualification. 

We have high standards of care and are looking for an enthusiastic team member to join our fun group working 4-day weeks, 1 weekend in 4 with days off in lieu, with a varied caseload.  As a team we are striving to provide the best possible care for our patients, owners and our colleagues.

Large Animal Vet

We have an exciting opportunity for an additional, experienced Large Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly, dedicated Farm Vet Team in Gloucestershire. We are looking for a candidate with a passion for farm practice and will consider a full or part time working to attract the very best farm vets to work alongside our existing team.

The ideal candidate will enjoy routine dairy work, with an increasing and interesting amount of beef, sheep, gamebird, small holder work and export work. The practice has Easi-scan goggles per vet, BBSE equipment, client training aids and digital TB testing handhelds, with access to Interherd+, Uniform agri and Digifarm.

The practice runs frequent client training sessions including DEFRA AI, Foot trimming and Lameness, Lambing and Medicine training courses. We are privileged to have a progressive client base, always keen for education, training, and health planning. Wood vet group has an in-house Laboratory with dedicated Lab technicians providing advanced diagnostics such as Johne’s and Neospora testing with full bulk tank analysis and mastitis culture and sensitivity.

The team is supported by an excellent office team, a Vet tech, NACFT Foot trimmer and 3 dedicated TB testers, allowing the clinical team to provide a high standard of veterinary services to our clients.

We have regular clinical and whole farm team meetings to support our younger vets and mentoring is actively encouraged. We also have a dedicated SA hospital team that receive all farm OOH calls.

Small Animal New Graduate Vacancy
Are you a new or recently qualified, talented, veterinary graduate looking for an excellent opportunity to advance your skills in small animal medicine and surgery in a supportive hospital environment?

The role, at Wood Veterinary Group in Gloucestershire, is initially a year-long internship as part of the Vet Partners Group New Graduate Scheme with potential for a permanent long-term career.

 

You will work as the primary contact for clients but also alongside our specialist team to ensure patients have access to gold standard healthcare without the need to travel for referral.

You will be involved in the hands-on care of a range of small-animals, providing both emergency and routine healthcare and educating pet owners about how they can manage and prevent further injuries and/or sickness.

 

Key Responsibilities: Provide first-class care to injured/sick patients. Administer treatments including injections, tablets, drips and blood transfusions. Perform diagnostic tests, e.g. blood sampling, urine analysis and x-rays. Prepare animals for surgery and perform some minor procedures e.g neutering, suturing wounds and dental hygiene. Assist veterinary surgeons with major operations.

 

Hours will be 40 hours p/w, including weekend and out of hours, there will never be sole charge work. Further rota details discussed at interview.

 

You will hold a degree in Veterinary Medicine, be registered with the RCVS and display good routine small animal surgical and medical skills.

The role involves working alongside our Vets & Nurses answering incoming calls, assisting with the handling of patients, and helping us to keep the wards clean & tidy.
 
Shift times: Saturday’s & Sunday’s 17:00-22:00
 
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a Veterinary Practice, Reception, or animal handling role. Number of working weekends per month to be discussed.
