SMALL ANIMAL NIGHT VET VACANCY

Emergency Night Vet – Wood Vet Group – Quedgeley, Gloucester

Wood Veterinary Group have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated Night Vet to join our progressive and dedicated OOH team on the edge of the beautiful Cotswolds, with good motorway access to the South West, London & the North.

The role is based within our under refurbishment, RCVS Accredited Small Animal Hospital and Emergency Services Clinic. We offer a challenging and varied caseload, supporting numerous other practices in the county, as well as our own clients. You will lead our dedicated night nurses, and be supported by 20 small animal day vets, including various certificate holders.

You will need to be a positive team player with great client skills; a confident and thorough approach in dealing with all emergency medical and surgical procedures.

Our current team work 7 nights on, 14 off (Monday to Sunday) with holiday to be taken in non-working time.

Night Registered Veterinary Nurse

Wood Veterinary Group have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated Night Nurse to join our progressive and dedicated OOH team on the edge of the beautiful Cotswolds, with good motorway access to the South-West, London & the North.

The role is based within our RCVS Accredited Small Animal Hospital and Emergency Services Clinic in Gloucester. We offer a challenging and varied caseload, supporting numerous other practices in the county, as well as our own clients. You will be part of a team of 6 dedicated night nurses working alongside 1 night vet and 1 night nurse each night, supported by a large team of small animal day vets, nurses and kennel assistants, many of whom hold post qualification certificates.  Our in-house Laboratory with dedicated technicians provides advanced diagnostics.

Our nurses enjoy a great work-life balance, enabling them to explore everything the locality has to offer in their downtime. With the historic attraction of Gloucester Cathedral and breath-taking countryside right on your doorstep, this location is perfect for nature-lovers. For those who prefer more of a city scene, you’re only a 45-minute drive from beautiful Bristol, and an hour and half from the lively Welsh capital of Cardiff.

You will be conscientious, hardworking, have a passion for providing a high standard of veterinary care, and be confident in all aspects of emergency and critical care nursing. You will work a varied caseload where schedule 3 is actively encouraged, and additional training/ qualifications are supported.

Salary: Up to £30,000 DOE (inclusive of holiday pay)

Working Pattern:   5 nights on 10 off, equating to 121.67 nights per annum

8.3 weeks holiday to take in non-working time, equating to 19.5 days.

13-hour shifts, with a 2-hour unpaid break

Accommodation can be provided locally

CPD allowance of £600, but no days

We keep information about employees for 6 years after employment ceases for legal reasons.

Personal data for unsuccessful candidates will be kept for 12 months.

  • Request access to your personal data (commonly known as a ‘data subject access request’)
  • Request correction of personal data we hold on you.
