MA VetMB MRCVS
Since qualifying from Cambridge in 1975 Chris Watson has so far managed to successfully spend the vast majority of his working life avoiding Small Animal and Equine work. This has meant that he has gained a lot of experience, and obviously interest, in cattle work and has been known to put “pen to paper” and “word to mouth” on a few cattle subjects over the 37 years or so he has been in practice. Working in Herefordshire, Cheshire, Dorset and finally to Gloucester since 1979 he has had the opportunity to specialise in dairy cattle health and fertility which is always a good starter as it really is still the backbone of routine herd visits. Also after six children he thought an interest in fertility might not go amiss anyway?
Chris has spent many years working for the British Cattle Veterinary Association (BCVA) both within the organisation as secretary and president in 1996 and more recently helping with the BCVA/Intervet fertility course. He spends quite a lot of time out on the road teaching and running courses with NMR, InterHerd and other organisations mostly with the fertility theme.
Chris retired from Wood Veterinary Group in July 2015, however will continue wokring for the Practice in a Consultant role.
